Description

Are you interested in communicating your research through a podcast? This session, delivered by Christine Garrington (Research Podcasts) and Todd Landman (PVC Social Sciences) will introduce you to the principles of podcasting, and why it is a great tool for education and knowledge exchange, to include:

- What a podcast is and what it isn’t

- How podcasts are accessed

- Who listens to podcasts and why

- Podcasting tips and tricks (structures, formats, platforms)

- The importance of storytelling

- The kit

- Building an audience through social media

Christine Garrington, former BBC journalist and Managing Director of Research Podcasts, works with social scientists and other researchers in the UK to create meaningful podcasts about their research. The session will draw on the ongoing Nuffield funded collaboration between Todd Landman and Research Podcasts - The Rights Track - as a podcasting case study.

This workshop is open to academics and research staff across the Social Sciences and Arts Faculties, and will include a buffet lunch.
